Blue Christmas

As we grow older, we cannot really deny that the world is also changing. But one thing that bothers me all the time is that, is the spirit of christmas really gone?or we just grew that much and we cannot feel the excitement anymore? Because as far as I remember, when I was a child, I used to be reallyy excited about the thoughts of celebrating christmas with bunch of gifts and delicious foods. Now that I am a teenager, it feels like just a normal day. Well, I can't tell what exactly the reason why because I am also wondering.

This year, I had holiday blues, for the 2nd time in a row. Maybe because my father is miles away from me and it is now my 2nd christmas without him. Another thing is that I am only having Noche Buena with my grandparents and what made me even more sad is when my lolo said "huwag niyo nalang ako gisingin ng 12, wala rin naman tayong kasama so hindi ko rin feel". It breaks my heart hearing those words coming from him, so maybe that's why I didn't feel any enjoyment.

After the christmas eve, days passed by and it still feels 'just a normal day' for me. No presents, no games, no trips, nothing at all. I was just lying on my bed, watching tv, eating, sleeping and doing some household chores. For me, nothing special happened this christmas season but I am still thankful that I got to celebrate the birthday of Papa Jesus even tho my heart aches thinking and imagining how happy I could've been if I am with my loved ones.

Despite all the odds, I remain grateful for our everyday life and I thank God for always providing what our family needs. Even my christmas holiday wasn't filled with colors red and green, I am still thankful and blessed for the gift of life that the Lord gave me.

If you're reading this right now, I would like to say belated Merry Christmas!! It's okay if sometimes, all we feel is holiday blues. I hope one day, table turns for us and we get to experience a holly jolly christmas szn again!! ♡
