BLOG 2: CLIMATE CHANGE
SAVE THE EARTH: SAVE LIVES
Climate change impacts our society in many different ways. Drought can harm food production and human health. Flooding can lead to spread of disease, death, and damage ecosystems and infrastructure. Human health issues that result from drought, flooding, and other weather conditions increase the death rate, change food availability, and limit how much a worker can get done, and ultimately the productivity of our economy.
Climate change affects everyone, but the impacts are uneven across the country and around the world. Even within one community, climate change can affect one neighborhood or person more than another. Long-standing differences in income and opportunity, or socioeconomic inequalities, can make some groups more vulnerable. Communities that have less access to resources to protect themselves or cope with impacts are often the same communities that are also more exposed to hazards.
But let me tell you, this problem could not only be solved by resilience. We all know that being resilient is one of our common ways to cope up with these kind of challenges and we always gaslight ourselves that this attitude can save us anytime. So I think it is now time for us to learn and take actions.
Firstly, we must stop normalizing cutting down trees. It is clearly stated in the law that this thing is illegal but still some people tend to do it without even thinking about its effects. We are not kids anymore so we should already know how to be responsible in taking care of our mother earth. THERE IS NO PLANET B. Instead of cutting them down, let us all start planting more of them so that we can avoid floods and other calamities.
Another thing we can do is to stop burning garbages. Our world is already polluted in many ways and we cannot stop air pollution because of the large amount of vehicles and manufacturers. So, let us atleast lessen the amount of dirty air we consume by avoiding burning our trash. A simple act like this can surely contribute a huge impact.
May we all realize that we are slowly losing our Mother Earth so that we can be united as one and start taking actions to bring back what we have lost. There are a lot of things we can do and I am pretty sure that even the smallest gesture — when combined together can make the biggest change. IT IS NOW OR NEVER. Let us all remember our responsibilities and instead of complaining, let's just take some time to do something for the sake of betterment of the world. KEEP IN MIND THAT A HEALTHIER ENVIRONMENT IS IMPORTANT FOR US TO ACHIEVE A HEALTHIER LIVING.
